Long Description
The Manager – Indirect Taxation will be responsible for managing the organization's indirect tax compliance, advisory, litigation support, audits, and tax optimization initiatives across multiple business entities and locations. The role requires ensuring compliance with GST, Customs, Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), and other applicable indirect tax regulations while supporting business operations through proactive tax planning and process improvements.
Long Description
Key Responsibilities
GST Compliance & Management
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C.
- Review GST reconciliations and identify opportunities to improve compliance and reporting accuracy.
- Monitor input tax credit (ITC) availability, utilization, reversals, and optimization.
- Ensure compliance with evolving GST laws, notifications, circulars, and judicial pronouncements.
- Coordinate with business and finance teams to resolve GST-related operational issues.
Indirect Tax Advisory
- Provide tax advisory support to business stakeholders for domestic and cross-border transactions.
- Evaluate tax implications of new business models, contracts, products, and supply chain structures.
- Guide internal stakeholders on GST, Customs Duty, SEZ, EOU, and Foreign Trade Policy provisions.
- Advise management on tax-efficient business practices while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Customs & Foreign Trade
- Oversee customs compliance related to imports and exports.
- Review duty benefits under various export incentive schemes and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
- Support availing benefits under EPCG, Advance Authorization, RoDTEP, and other applicable schemes.
- Coordinate with customs consultants, logistics teams, and government authorities.
Tax Audits & Assessments
- Manage GST audits, departmental inquiries, investigations, and assessments.
- Prepare responses to notices and communications from tax authorities.
- Liaise with tax consultants and legal counsels for tax litigation matters.
- Maintain documentation and records required for audits and compliance reviews.
Process Improvement & Controls
- Strengthen indirect tax controls and compliance processes across business units.
- Drive tax automation initiatives and ERP-related tax process enhancements.
- Review and improve tax compliance systems to mitigate risks.
- Conduct internal training sessions and awareness programs for finance and operational teams.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Finance, Commercial, Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Legal teams.
- Support leadership with tax impact analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Coordinate with external consultants, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
Long Description
Education
Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred.CA Inter / MBA (Finance) / M.Com with significant indirect taxation experience may also be considered.Certifications in GST, Customs, or International Trade regulations will be an added advantage.
